Inside Japan's negative rate policy

5 comments:

  1. It is difficult to believe that Switzerland, Germany and Japan are all NIRP now but doesn't take too much of a stretch to see what is possible with the Fed's eventual responses. Although I don't fault the central banks for the attempts to ease the slide down or to jump start a stalling engine, this most certainly feels like a grand experiment.
So if this doesn't work, what anticipated next steps will they have available?
    Thanks, Mark.

    1. From what I know NIRP and QE are the last steps of the grand experiment. Hard to see where we go from here.
